University teaching hospitals across the globe are relying on Ross Group’s Universal Veterinary Information System for electronic medical records.
Atlanta, GA, July 6, 2011 – Ross Group Inc (RGI) announced final contract award of the Universal Veterinary Information System (UVIS) with the University of Pretoria located in South Africa.
"UVIS (Universal Veterinary Information System) is an enterprise level software package that manages all major aspects of hospital and lab operations," explains Wendell Riley, Director of Veterinary Solutions at Ross Group. "By using Ross Group software and services, University Teaching Hospitals and Labs position themselves to continuously enhance animal care and client service through the application of technology."
"We were truly impressed with the ability of UVIS to bring us closer to the Holy Grail of a full electronic medical record", explains Dr. Henry Annandale, Director Clinical Services at Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital. We believe that this is a significant advantage offered to us and are excited about the road ahead."
Richard Spanier, President of Software Solutions at Ross Group, explains, "We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the University of Pretoria. No doubt there will be challenges as we embark on the journey of bringing our UVIS products to the global market; but having seen the commitment from my staff and the University during the selection process, I am sure this relationship will prove very beneficial to all parties. This is a significant milestone for RGI and the UVIS product."
The Faculty of Veterinary Science of the University of Pretoria is one of 46 veterinary faculties in Africa and the only one of its kind in South Africa. It is the second oldest faculty in Africa, dating back to the early 1920’s. With the exception of the faculties in Khartoum (Sudan, 1938), and Cairo (Egypt, 1946), all the other African faculties were established after 1960. Graduates enjoy national and international recognition and the BVSc degree of the University of Pretoria currently enjoys recognition for registration by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in the UK, the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) in Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania as well as by the relevant authorities in Malaysia.
Headquartered in Dayton, Ohio with an office in Douglasville, Georgia, Ross Group Inc is a leading supplier of software to University Veterinary Teaching Hospitals in North America.
UVIS provides both an enterprise level Hospital and a LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) that integrates seamlessly for a complete solution to those veterinary organizations that require both.
